THE BARN SESSIONS..... this is primarily an instrumental Levitaion album featuring Dave, Bob, Laurence and Bic, in dubbed out groove excursions and psychedelic mantras. It's been compared to Can, PIL circa Metal Box and Talk Talk's Laughing Stock LP. This is a priority album due to be mixed in early 1996. THE DEPARTURE LOUNGE..... an ongoing work, as yet unfinished but with an LP release planned for '96. Born from the attitude of the Barn Sessions, this is Bob and Dave in Bob's home studio creating a complex panorama of dub, tinged with acoustic instrumentation. Drawing on a diversity of influences, from hip-hop through to John Barry via Brian Eno. Dave describes it as "A dense sound, penetrable with a big burner!". Watch this space. KATHERINE BLAKE AND DAVID FRANCOLINI 'FOR THIS MOMENT'..... A collaboration with Miranda Sex Garden singer Katherine. THE HEART OF THE HOME..... Bic's dark psychedelia abum. A warped blend of the delicate and the monstrous. Mixing imminent for a new year release. THE MILK AND HONEY BAND..... Bob's second solo LP. Described by the man as "in the same vein as the first one but more complete, there's a lot more going on". Round The Sun (the first one) was described in Select magazine as being "pristine psychedelia, Beatlesy with Baroque touches that evoke the spirit of Brian Wilson." As yet untitled, the album is due for release by Rough Trade in the new year.
CRADLE..... the new project from ex-House of Lover and chief Levitator Terry Bickers. Released June 10th is the sprightly single, Second Nature, closely followed on June 24th by the soon-to-be-seminal album Baba Yaga. This is a veritable cornucopia of a collection, running the gamut from strident Patti Smith type rockers through to Nick Drake type acoustic songs.
