The USA obviously has a stranglehold on much of the world’s behaviour one way or another.

Politics is a rotten game at the best of times, but anybody who votes Republican in the USA surely needs their heads examined. A vice candidate like Sarah Palin seems to be a global catastrophe in waiting.

Check out this page of links to news articles giving some background to Palin‘s views. Amongst the gems:

Soon after Sarah Palin was elected mayor of the foothill town of Wasilla, Alaska, she startled a local music teacher by insisting in casual conversation that men and dinosaurs coexisted on an Earth created 6,000 years ago — about 65 million years after scientists say most dinosaurs became extinct — the teacher said.

and

In November 2006, then gubernatorial candidate Sarah Palin declared that she would not support an abortion for her own daughter even if she had been raped.

Granting exceptions only if the mother’s life was in danger, Palin said that when it came to her daughter, “I would choose life.”

Oh dear oh dear. Looks like the McCain/Palin ticket at the election could be… and this is hard to even write… worse than George Bush being in power.

The question is, will there actually be a revolution in the USA if the Republicans manage to get in again.
