Another day, another Co-op banking failure
I know, it’s too much to ask. I’d like to view the transactions on my business current account since December 2008 please. Oooops E_MT_ERROR and:
Error: org.omg.CORBA.NO_RESOURCES: vmcid: 0×0 minor code: 0 completed: No (8516)
Again. At best Co-op business banking is painfully slow. Very often it just doesn’t work at all.
Today, I am finally going to see if I can talk to a manager on their internet team and see what plans they have to remedy this.
Thanks to all the Co-op customers who have commented on my various posts about them. Keep the comments coming.

October 1, 2009Just got through to them after hours of trying and told the guy in the call centre about your site, which he found interesting. They’re overloaded he said and the servers can’t cope. I was told they’ll replace the Corba and have a new web based set-up in November which has been stress tested. My stress has been tested too!

October 1, 2009Yes I had it again this morning, spoke to them too. They said the system at the moment can only handle 130 concurrent users! 130! For a bank!

November 5, 2009It’s got worse in the last week. The staff just don’t seem to care anymore, but to be honest after the amount of complaints they’re probably dealing with on a daily basis… I’m not very surprised.
Still, do suppliers understand this when you tell them you can’t pay them yet? No.

November 14, 2009Agree with all the comments above. Coop business online works very badly. Call centre takes 8 minutes+ even at non busy times of day. Even their domestic accounts service is better. Astounding as business customers pay for their service! I am close to giving up with the coop as my complaints were never answered.
Also there are security issues. Be careful with the coopertive business account online services. It uses static user/pass ( unlike the domestic accounts ). I had more than 5000 pounds stolen from my account ( two fraudulent online transfers to another account) while I was working abroad. Although the coop were good at refunding the loss it was a horrible experience and no explanation for the loss was ever given.

November 14, 2009I totally agree with all the commments about the Co-op online banking ‘service’. I have written to them recently (4th Nov) to complain and only received a ‘form letter’ dated 11th Nov stating ‘we’re investigating your complaint and will get back to you’. i.e Not very helpful.
The service has got worse and worse over the last few months until it is, I find, virtually unuseable during the working day. I’m having to do any banking transacations in the evenings or at weekends which is not what I expect from an online bank – let alone an online business banking ‘service’.
I also have online accounts with RBS, Lloyds, HSBC and Barclays (RBS & HSBC business accounts)and all their systems are light years ahead of the Co-op in terms of speed and efficiency.
